A
WARM welcome to the
website of Sandhurst
Cricket Club. We are a friendly cricket club, based in the historical
English town of Sandhurst, Berkshire.
The
2012 season was a mixed season for the club.
Sandhurst's
1st XI had a poor
season, mainly due to called off games by the bad weather over the summer and some out of form performances and were relegated from the Berkshire Cricket League premier
division.
Even though the outcome was the first time Sandhurst First XI had been relegated from the Premire Division in over 10 years, there were still some memorable performances throughout the year. Anthony Clapham's matching winning 91 not out vs. Grovsnver, Skipper Adam Birch 54 off 25 balls to chase down Woodcotes total. Anthony Clapham's also claimed his first 5 for for the First XI, to name a few.
One thing that can be said for the upcoming 2013 season is that the teams in Division 1 will keep a close eye on this Sandhurst XI as they will be hungry to succeed and power their way back into the Premier Division.
The
2nd XI are now a regular sight in Division 3 had ambitions of staying competitive and looking for a top half finish, while new skipper Mark Clapham made a huge effort in bringing in some of our up and coming stars from the junior ranks. Mark committed to playing at least two Under 15s in every game and even had 3 in on a few occasions.
These youngsters didn't disappoint; Dan Bird and Conor Pharo the main faces representing the U15's holding their own in a strong Division. Conor leading the way by being leading wicket take for the first half of the season while Bird showed off his bowling talent by often coming in with super low economy rates.
It was not all down to the Juniors; Mark "Senior" Clapham led the way with consistent bowling display and even throwing in a top for of the year batting (75!)
The 2nd XI obtained their goal of finishing in the top four and hope to continue their way next year.
We also boast a
Sunday side who play friendly, Cup and league cricket for all abilities to play in, A Midweek XI who play in the Bracknell Forest evening League, and a successful Colts section, boasting main talented youngsters
The Colts are a big focus in order to maintain a flow of players and to keep the club strong and alive for years to come. We host age groups of Under-15's and Under-9s, who are coached by and guided by some great qualified coaches.
